SUMMER 2009 NEWS
Hi Everyone

Time for another newsletter and class list doesn’t seem long ago I did the last one just before Christmas and here we are nearly halfway through the year. The last few months have been very busy I’ve managed to make quite a few new quilts some following a pattern and some I made up as I went along. I know lots of you have been finishing off UFO’s which is always a good feeling as you can then enjoy starting new projects. The jelly roll classes have been very popular in fact one of them we have already run two classes and have decided to run it again during the summer as I know there are some people who couldn’t make the dates. So if you are one of those please check out the class list.


LINUS QUILTS
We have also been very busy making Linus quilts and quilts for the elderly. Many of you have brought some lovely quilts to the shop and some of you have donated some lovely fabrics - so we have been kept very busy.
At the moment we have quite a pile of quilts waiting to go to good homes during the next few weeks.
If anyone has any fabrics in their stash that they no longer need or like we are always grateful for any donations especially children’s fabric.



WAITROSE GOOD CAUSE
As many of you know I nominated the quilters for the good cause box in Waitrose. I did this last year when we were trying to raise money for our labels and then during April our name was above one of the boxes for the month! Waitrose share £1,000’s between three good causes. We have been given £417 as we had the largest amount of tokens! The money will be used to buy wadding and backing fabrics for the quilts; so if you are making any linus quilts and need some backing or wadding please let me know. (We will be receiving the money in a few weeks and then it will take a few weeks to get the stock in).


I’m now waiting for the New Layer Cake book to arrive. Many of you bought the Jelly Roll book - well this is the next book which I’m sure will be as good as the last. So if you would like to reserve a copy, please let me know. It should be released at the beginning of June - hopefully.

New Jelly Rolls and Layer Cakes are arriving all the time and they are still only £21.00. Many of the fabric prices have gone up but at the moment I am still able to keep my prices down and hopefully it will remain that way for some time.
I know we are all having to watch the pennies these days but let’s hope there will always be a few spare to buy fabric.

For those of you who have SKY television do you know there is a quilting programme on once a week? It’s on Rural Television, which is Channel 279. I think it is on Saturdays but I catch the repeat on Sunday at 11am it’s called Quilt in a Day.

I am now stocking the Tilda products many of you have bought the books in the past and there is a new one due out during the summer. The products relate to the books fabric , ribbons and stitcheries etc. I only have a limited stock at the moment but I will be stocking up as soon as the new book arrives. NEW WEB SITE. I also have a large stock of cross stitch kits that are selling for half price lots of different designs some of which will be going onto my website soon.
